Family Grant Program
Modest, direct assistance for the essentials recovery demands: utility deposits, children's clothing, school supplies, transportation support, and relocation essentials.
A 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization
The Ember House Foundation helps families devastated by house fire, storm, or catastrophe pick up the pieces where insurance drops the ball, misses the mark, or simply isn't enough.
EVERY SERVICE IS FREE · WE NEVER CHARGE FAMILIES
The gap we fill
A public adjuster can only help people who have an insurance policy. That leaves out the renter with no renter's insurance, the family whose dwelling coverage falls short, and the parents who discover, too late, that their contents coverage won't replace what their children lost. The Ember House Foundation exists for them.
We review every request with care. Our programs are free to families; we never charge for support. Where our capacity cannot meet a need, we do our best to point you toward resources that can.
What we do
Modest, direct assistance for the essentials recovery demands: utility deposits, children's clothing, school supplies, transportation support, and relocation essentials.
When a family's community fundraiser launches, the foundation seeds it early, giving the campaign momentum and showing the community that this family is worth rallying around.
Step-by-step guidance for the first 72 hours after a fire: staying safe, what to do first, how to document the loss, and where to turn next. Free for any family, anywhere.
You don't have to recover alone.

From the newsroom
Our 72-Hour Recovery Guide walks families through the first three days after a fire, calmly and in order: safety, shelter, documentation, who to call, and how to plan the next 30 days.
Written to be shared. Link to it, print it, hand it to a neighbor. It belongs to anyone who needs it.
Documentation starts with a notebook and a phone camera. The guide shows how.
Storytelling with dignity
Produced by Ember Red Studios, The Re-Build follows fire-impacted families and the contractors who help them rebuild. It is filmed up close on resilience, never down on anyone's pain: dignity first, always.
Production is currently paused while the foundation focuses its resources on direct family support. When the series returns, it will return done right.
We don't film down on people's pain. We film up close on their resilience.
How it holds together
Ember Red Studios creates the stories. The stories bring visibility. Visibility brings support to families. And proceeds from that work help fund the foundation's mission, so the next family is never left to start from nothing.
