Transparency & accountability

Trust is earned in the open.

We are a young foundation in the early stages of our work. Rather than borrow credibility from history we don't have, we show you exactly who we are, how we're governed, and what we owe the public as we grow.

Governance

Led by people with their names on it.

The foundation is governed by its board of directors, who carry legal and fiduciary responsibility for the organization's mission, finances, and conduct.

  • Mykel Wooten · President
  • Antonae Wallace · Secretary
  • Lyriq Wooten · Treasurer

The board sets policy, approves budgets, and oversees program activity. As the foundation grows, this page will grow with it: committee structure, governance documents, and any changes in leadership will be published here.

Our commitments

What accountability looks like here.

We won't claim credibility we haven't earned. Here's what we commit to, and what we won't say until it's true.

  • Honest reporting. Our first financial and impact report will be published when the foundation completes its first full reporting period. It will be published here, plainly and in full.
  • No borrowed credentials. We have not undergone an independent audit, published a Form 990 history, completed an annual report, or earned external accreditation. When any of that changes, we'll say so. Until then, we won't imply it.
  • Every dollar traceable. As programs disburse funds, grants and program spending will be recorded and reported in our public filings and impact reports.
  • Donor honesty. Founding and major donors are recognized with their consent, for recognition only. Recognition is never sold, and it never buys influence over whom we serve.
  • Families first, always. Family stories are shared only with explicit consent, with dignity, and never as fundraising spectacle.

An honest word about our stage. The Ember House Foundation is in the early stages of its work. We are building programs, partnerships, and reporting infrastructure from the ground up. What we promise on this page is the standard we'll hold ourselves to, starting now. Judge us by whether we keep it.
